One Day Trip From Bharuch

Destination 1- Rajpipla from Bharuch

It is located at a distance of  65.8 km from Bharuch in Gujarat. Rajpipla was formerly a center of a princely state. Rajvant palace is a very popular tourist spot in Rajpipla. The main attraction of this palace is its Victorian architecture. It has European domes, a classical column of  semi-circular portico as the entrance, Gothic arches, Corinthian pillars and to add to its scenery, a rear view of the river .


Rajpipla also has few temples, church, mosques, Gurudwara, a Parsi Fire Temple and Jain derasar.
Rajpipla is beautified by the Karjan River, holy Narmada River, streams, Satpura Mountain range, evergreen banana, sugarcane plantations and thick teak forests .Throughout the year, the weather in Rajpipla is very subtle. Extreme weather is not seen either during winter, rains or summer.

Reaching Rajpipla

It takes around one hour 30 minutes to reach this place. Bharuch and Rajpipla are very well connected by bus.Rajpipla is the nearest railway station, however Bharuch is the nearest major railway station located at 65kms.The closest airport is at Vadodara located at 73kms.

Destination 2- Chandod from Bharuch

It is located a t a distance of 14.9 kms from Rajpipla. Chandod is a  city of temples which is located  at the merger  of the Saraswati, Narmada and Orsang rivers. It is therefore considered highly sacred and a dip here in the ghats is also considered to be very sacred amongst all the places across Narmada.Also Chandod homes  temples such as the Kashivishwanath Mahadev temple where you cannot miss out on seeing  interesting wall paintings.

It takes less than half an hour to reach this place from Rajpipla. Dabhoi is the nearest railway station while the  closest airport is at Vadodara.

Destination 3: Sardar Sarovar Dam from Bharuch

It is located a t a distance of 46.6kms from Chandod.Sardar sarovar dam is a  beautiful place to spend your entire day. But if you are running short of time, then you could just have a look at this beautiful dam along with six points around the dam site which includes  a garden, the foundational stone of which was laid by Jawaharlal Nehru in 1961.


Next is a point from where a side view of the flow of the water from the dam is seen .There is also a lake where you can enjoy boating. You can also visit  the Surpaneshwar Shiva temple built by the  Government as the  original ancient temple that was submerged by the dam. Visitors can also have a night stay here at Kevadia colony.

Reaching Sardar Sarovar Dam

It takes about one hour to reach this place from Chandod. The Sardar Sarovar dam site can be reached by private vehicle. Bharuch is the nearest railway station while the closest airport is at Vadodara.

Destination 4 - Shoolpaneshwar Wildlife Sanctuary

It is located a t a distance of 111 km from Sardar Sarovar Dam. If you are looking to experience the the thrill of coming across a python or flying squirrel, then this is the place to be. You can also see pangolin, leopards etc and. This sanctuary has moist deciduous forest  which makes the place even more beautiful.

Reaching Shoolpaneshwar Wildlife Sanctuary

It takes 2 hours 30 minutes to reach this place from Sardar Sarovar Dam.The Shoolpaneshwar Wildlife Sanctuary can be reached by buses which are available from Bharuch, Chanod, Dabhoi and Rajpipla. The nearest bus stand is at a distance of 60kms in  Ankleshwar. The nearest railway station is in Ankleshwar located a distance of  60 km. Vadodara is the closest domestic airport to the Sanctuary which is  about 90 km away and Ahmadabad is the nearest international airport  about 260 km away.
